Since 1999, Mannes has presented a year-long music festival every year. Each festival has a theme and a program of more than 20 concerts, performed by the Mannes School of Music's gifted young student artists, distinguished faculty members, and renowned guests and held at prestigious New York City concert venues and cultural institutions. The festivals are an outstanding component of the overall Mannes program. As part of the 2019 "Mannes Sounds" festival, Mannes School of Music at the New School will present a concert in collaboration with the Czech Center featuring Mannes's talented young artists. This evening's concert will celebrate and explore the proud musical tradition of the Czech Republic. The program will include selected songs by Dvořák, Smetana, Fišer, Martinů, etc. This concert will be part of the Czech Center New York's Celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the Velvet Revolution, the central theme of the fall program.
